January 11, 2023 – The Fresno County Sheriff's Office reports the following information. On Tuesday, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Huron Police and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) FCSO MuroNarcotics worked together to take 23-year-old Pedro Miranda-Muro of Los Angeles into custody. He was arrested in Huron and later booked into the Fresno County Jail. Due to having a federal warrant out for his arrest, he has been placed on a federal hold and is not eligible for bail.

On January 3rd, detectives patrolling the area of Interstate 5 and Highway 33 near Cantua Creek conducted a vehicle stop. During the detectives' interaction with the driver, Pedro Miranda-Muro, K-9 Willow alerted them to the odor of narcotics. Detectives discovered 11 pounds of pure Fentanyl powder and 1.5 pounds of Heroin inside his car. The Fentanyl's street value is approximately $230,000 and the Heroin is $12,000.

At the time of this arrest, the county’s "Zero Dollar Emergency Bail Rule" was still in effect, which allowed Miranda-Muro to be released after four hours. The following day, Fresno County judges ended the Zero Dollar Bail policy, meaning moving forward, someone facing the same charges would need to post bond before being released.
