February 21, 2016 - The Merced Police Department reports on Thursday, February 18, 2016 the Merced Police Gang Violence Suppression Unit (GVSU) Officers stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in the 700 Block of W.
25th Street.Subsequently the GVSU Officers made contact with driver of the vehicle, Amy Vasquez, 39. Amy Vasquez’s driver’s license was suspended. While she was detained, a search was completed and a handgun was discovered to be in her possession. Amy Vasquez was arrested and released after a citation was issued for the handgun possession.
The Merced Police Department Gang Violence Suppression Unit is asking for any information from citizens about Amy Vasquez committing crimes.
