The SAR Team assists the Mariposa Sheriff's Office with searches for missing children and adults, rescues in over-the-bank vehicle accidents and fire evacuations.  Within the past year the Team has participated in over 20 missions.

The SAR Team is made up of volunteer members ranging in age from high school students to retirees. Members are required to provide their own equipment, such as hiking gear, GPS units, backpacks, tents, climbing harnesses, headlamps and Jeeps. The equipment and training are expensive, and, with the exception of Swiftwater Rescue equipment, nearly everything is bought by members or through donations.

We appreciate the community's support, which enables us carry out our mission “That Others May Live”.
