Background

The Mariposa County Resource Conservation District (MCRCD), located in the environs of Yosemite National Park, helps address and solve critical conservation issues on public and private lands within Mariposa County, including but not limited to agriculture, forestry, water and local economics. We effect real and lasting positive change in our landscape.

The MCRCD is the fiscal agent for the Yosemite-Mariposa Integrated Regional Water Management (Y-M IRWM) Plan, sponsored by the CA Department of Water Resources (DWR). The IRWM Plan was developed and recently adopted by the Regional Water Advisory Council (RWAC) – a volunteer group of local public agencies, private organizations, nonprofits and state and federal agency partners. The RWAC is beginning the implementation of the goals and objectives identified in the IRWM Plan.
