April 19, 2022 – Danette Toso is running for Mariposa County District 3 Supervisor and is humbly asking for your support.
Danette is passionate about preserving the beauty, rural character, and strong community of Mariposa County for future generations. The Toso's are firmly rooted in Mariposa County and are here to stay.
Danette and Tony Toso reside in Hornitos on their family’s cattle and horse ranch. The Toso's have been ranching partners with Danette’s parents Dick & Donna Wilkey since 1991. Together, they have raised two daughters in District 3, with the next generation on the way. Danette is the executive director at the Mariposa County Farm Bureau, an avid supporter of local 4-H and FFA programs, the Mariposa County Committee member of the USDA Farm Service Agency, active member of the California Cattlemen’s Association (of which Tony is the current president,) active in Edwards, Lein & Toso Agricultural Appraisal business, and secretary and board member of the animal rescue group, New Beginnings for Merced County Animals, and an advocate for other animal rescues.
I would like to address the following major issues as your supervisor:
- Better use of tax dollars for roads & infrastructure
- Increased security by fully funding the Sheriff’s department
- Public meetings during times the public can attend
- Fire prevention by prescriptive burning
- Code compliance that integrates compassion yet renders results
- Cut redundant government
- Encourage appropriate business development for local jobs
I believe the Constitution of the United States is our foundation, rural stewardship of our land is our duty, smaller government and more individual responsibility for our freedoms is necessary, and integrity and respect are requirements for any civil servant.
