Celebrate Art!
 Yosemite Foothills Open Studio Tour

 Friday, Saturday & Sunday September 30th, October 1st & 2nd 2016

The upcoming 2016 Sierra Art Trails open studio tour has many talented artists.  The Sierra Sun Times will be featuring a sampling
of several area artists each week leading up to the show.  Check back regularly to see who the next featured artist will be.

Charlotte Hoffman
Painter: Pastel, Oil

Charlotte-HoffmanCharlotte Hoffman is a landscape painter who paints primarily with pastels but also paints in oil.  Charlotte lives in the Mariposa area with her landscape photographer husband, David Hoffman and a menagerie of animals.

Her landscape subjects include the central valley, foothills and mountains.  She also likes to paint ordinary objects from around the house.  Charlotte is drawn to the light, colors and textures of scenes.  The couple have participated in Sierra Art Trails since 2004.

While growing up Charlotte's family regularly moved to a new location (Air Force military brat). She grew up on 4 continents which gave her an awareness of changing light and landscape at an early age.  Perhaps the love of landscape is related to those early impressions in the far away places of Africa, England, USA's east coast, Turkey and Japan.
