30th Annual Mariposa Storytelling Festival 
Grand Finale Celebration

This year’s Annual Mariposa Storytelling Festival will feature many talented artists. The Sierra Sun Times will feature each storyteller leading up to the festival.

Making her fourth appearance delighting our audience with her quick wit and humor, is San Diego Storyteller, Marilyn McPhie, who will be one of six master tellers performing at the Mariposa County Arts Council’s, 30th Mariposa Storytelling Festivals Grand Finale Celebration, March 10 – 12, 2017. Marilyn quickly connects with her audience, bringing a special magic to her stories, which often come from surprising sources.

2017 Storytelling Festival adShe recently was honored by the Storytellers Association of California, receiving their 2017 Regional Gem Award, at a ceremony at the Silk Road House, in Berkeley, where she also performed her hilarious Chocolate and Other Family Values. A Mariposa favorite, festival audiences are sure to also get a taste, or two, of Chocolate.

Marilyn is the President of the Storytellers of San Diego and a Board Member, representing the Pacific Region (CA, OR, WA, AK, HI), for the National Storytelling Network.  Marilyn and the Storytellers of San Diego produce the innovative annual San Diego Storytelling Festival, in Encinitas.

Events take place at Mariposa County High School on Friday, March 10th and Saturday, March 11th, Sunday’s Pancake Brunch and Grand Finale Stories will be at the Mariposa Senior Center at 5246 Spriggs Lane in Mariposa.  Tickets for the Mariposa Storytelling Festival may be purchased online at MariposaArtsCouncil.org, or contact the Mariposa County Arts Council at (209) 966-3155, or (800) 903-9936, for more information.
