July 19, 2021 - Merced – The Merced Police Department reports on Thursday, July 15, 2021, Officer Shaw, of the DART Team, received information regarding a Marijuana grow at 477 Connie Ct. Merced. The DART team conducted surveillance of the residence and developed information to request a search warrant. On Friday, July 16, 2021, the DART team along with GVSU served the search warrant at the residence. Officers located approximately 453 immature marijuana plants at the residence. 113 plants were found in the back yard in a greenhouse. The remainder were found in several converted rooms inside the residence. 265 pounds of processed marijuana was found and seized. The street value of marijuana can range from $1000-$3000.

Edward Franco (27), and Antonio Franco (55), were both arrested for, Cultivation of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana for sales.

The city of Merced allows six (6) marijuana plants to be grown indoors per residence.
