December 1, 2021 - Jose Luis Ramos Rivera, a 40-year-old Modesto resident, was arrested by investigators after he entered a home and sexually assaulted an adult female he had been working stanislaus county sheriffs office logofor. Investigators believe Ramos may have other victims and ask that anyone with information contact the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office.

On Friday, November 26, 2021, at about 7:30 A.M., deputies responded for the report of a female stating a man, identified by detectives as Ramos, broke into her home, sexually assaulted her, and stole her ATM card. Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons unit responded and took over the investigation and began collecting evidence with the assistance of the crime scene investigators.

The female told detectives she woke up to the sound of a person inside of her home. The man, wearing a mask and armed with a handgun, entered her bedroom, tied her up, choked her, sexually assaulted her, and threatened her if she were to call the police when he left.

Detectives identified Ramos as a suspect in the case. The female said she had hired him as a handyman, and he worked for her for several months. When the female hired Ramos, she took a photo of his identification, assisting in his apprehension the same day he committed the crimes.

Ramos was booked at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for robbery, home invasion, oral copulation, penetration with a foreign object, and assault with the intent to commit rape.
