March 2, 2022 - On February 28th at 1:15 p.m., Placer County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery on the bicycle path between Alpine Meadows and Olympic Valley. The victim told deputies she was hit by a bicyclist who was initially apologetic. The male then helped the victim up from the ground, pulled out a large buck knife, and demanded the victim’s jewelry and cell phone. The suspect threw away the victim’s cell phone and fled on his bicycle towards Truckee.
The suspect is described as a white male adult between his 20s and 30s, tall, thin build, and wearing athletic style clothing including a navy Jacket and charcoal-colored pants. This crime is being actively investigated, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Placer County Sheriff’s Office North Lake Tahoe Station Investigations Unit at (530) 581-6320.
