Update on 1/4/23: Three Bodies Discovered in Lakeside of Possible Murder Suicide Victims are Identified by San Diego County Sheriff’s Department

December 31, 2022 - The San Diego County Sheriff's Department reports on December 30, 2022, just after 11:30 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon at the 13500 block of Interstate 8 Business. Upon arrival, deputies learned a male might have shot a female after an argument and both were believed to still be inside the residence.

The Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail responded to the scene and ultimately made entry into the residence. Upon making entry, deputies discovered two deceased females in their late 50's and a deceased male in his late 50's. All three decedents appear to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation. At this point, it appears the male shot both females, then shot himself. The circumstances and motivations are under investigation. The identities of the decedent's are known but being withheld at this time.
