January 5, 2023 - The San Diego Police Department reports Northern Division officers responded to a call of a domestic violence restraining order violation. They detained the man and began investigating, finding a loaded ghost gun on the man. While searching his vehicle, they found three AR15 lower receivers, a suppressor, jigs, and additional firearm manufacturing equipment.

Officers contacted the detectives in our Ghost Gun Apprehension Team (GAT), who obtained a search warrant for the suspect's home in Pacific Beach. During the search, detectives recovered two un-serialized AR15 ghost gun rifles. The features of the AR15s classify them as assault weapons. We also located a fully automatic conversion device called a "Glock switch" that converts a semiautomatic handgun into a fully automatic weapon. Mere possession of the device is possession of a machine gun under California Law.

We also found three firearm suppressors, one loaded Glock handgun, two Derringer-style firearms, nine grams of cocaine, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, additional firearm manufacturing equipment, and body armor during the warrant search. The suspect was booked into San Diego County Jail on multiple charges, including possession of assault weapons, transporting a machine gun, possession of a silencer, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
