January 6, 2023 - The Ventura County Sheriff's Department reports the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) conducted an investigation into Jacob Oseguera for felony assault, attempted robbery and possession of an illegal weapon.

On 09/07/2022, Camarillo patrol deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at Take Five Cocktails, located in Camarillo. During the initial investigation, it was reported that Jacob Oseguera brandished a knife and attempted to stab the victim. Based on the investigation, there was probable cause to arrest Jacob Oseguera for being in violation of California Penal Code § 245 (a)(4) —Felony Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury.

On 12/18/22, Camarillo patrol deputies responded to a firearm brandishing call at Cronies Sports Grill, located in Camarillo. During the incident, it was reported that Jacob Oseguera was caught in the act of attempting to steal property from the victim's vehicle parked at the location. Once confronted, Jacob Oseguera produced a black handgun and pointed it directly at the victim prior to fleeing the area. Based on the investigation, there was probable cause to arrest Jacob Oseguera for being in violation of California Penal Code § 664/211 — Felony Attempted Robbery, California Penal Code § 245 (a)(2) —Felony Assault with A Firearm, California Penal Code § 29800 (a)(1) - Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, California Penal Code § 417 (a)(2) — Drawing or Exhibiting a Firearm, and California Vehicle Code § 10852 - Unlawful Tampering of Vehicle.

On 01/03/23, Jacob Oseguera was contacted in the area of Paseo Camarillo and Lantana Street and arrested for the above-listed violations. During the arrest, Jacob Oseguera was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm concealed on his person. Jacob Oseguera is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition due to a previous felony conviction of California Penal Code § 29815 (a) — Felony Possession of Firearm in Violation of Probation. Jacob Oseguera was arrested for additional violations of California Penal Code § 29800 (a)(1) — Felony Possession of Firearm by Felon, California Penal Code § 27545 — Felony Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm, California Penal Code § 25400 — Felony Carry Concealed Firearm in Public, and California Penal Code § 25850 (a) — Carry Loaded Firearm in Public. Lynette De Los Santos was also contacted during the arrest and found to be in violation of California Business & Professions Code § 4060 — Possession of a Controlled Substance without Prescription.

Residential search warrants were then executed in the 500 Block of Lantana Street and the 3000 Block of East Barca Street, Camarillo. During the search of the Lantana Street location, a loaded shotgun accessible to Jacob Oseguera was located. Evidence connecting Jacob Oseguera to a nearby gang-related graffiti vandalism was also located. Jacob Oseguera was found to be in violation of California Penal Code § 594 (b)(2)(A) — Graffiti Vandalism and California Penal Code § 186.22 (d) — Gang Enhancement. Ralph Reyes was also contacted at the location and found to be in violation of California Health & Safety Code § 11550 (a) — Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, California Health & Safety Code § 11364 (a) — Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and California Health & Safety Code § 11351 — Felony Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance. During a search of the Barca Street location, Victor Magana was contacted and found to be in possession of an AR-15 rifle with ammunition and Nunchaku. Victor Magana is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition due to a previous felony conviction of California Vehicle Code § 10851 (a) — Felony Unlawful Taking of a Vehicle. Victor Magana was subsequently arrested for violations of California Penal Code § 22010 — Felony Possession of Nunchaku, California Penal Code § 29800 (a)(1) —Possession of a Firearm by Felon, and California Penal Code § 30305 (a)(1) — Felony Possession of Ammunition by Prohibited Person.
