January 12, 2023 – The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department reported the following information. On Friday, January 6, 2023, at approximately 12:00 A.M., OCTF detectives were conducting surveillance at an undisclosed location, due to information received that inmates in the Los Angeles County jails were conspiring to smuggle illegal narcotics into the jails.
During surveillance by OCTF detectives, one female adult who was suspected of smuggling illegal narcotics into the Los Angeles County Jail system, was observed at her residence in San Pedro. OCTF detectives authored a search warrant that was signed by a judge. Then, the OCTF detectives conducted the search warrant at the location and detained the female suspect.
OCTF recovered approximately (3) lbs. of methamphetamine, (1) ounce of heroin, 100 fentanyl pills, (1) ghost gun, (1) lower receiver for a rifle, and (1) stolen revolver. They also recovered digital scales, $9,800 in U.S. currency, and packaging used for the sales of narcotics. The suspect was arrested and charged with numerous felony charges.
