Update: Los Angeles Man Identified as Suspect in Riverside County Murder was Arrested in San Diego

April 24, 2023 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials reported that on April 23, 2023, at 2:30 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a shooting at the 25000 block of Joshua Avenue, in Moreno Valley. When deputies arrived, they found a male, unresponsive in the street, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Deputies attempted lifesaving measures but the victim had already succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and Moreno Valley Station responded to assume the investigation. The victim was later identified as Giovanni Ibarra, a 44-year-old male from the city of Azusa. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to deputies arrival and is still outstanding.
