June 6, 2023 - Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that just after 11:30 p.m. on May 26th, a Placer County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop in the unincorporated area of Lincoln. During a conversation with the driver and passenger, the deputy learned the passenger had initially given a false name.
Further investigation revealed the passenger was in possession of a bundle of California identification cards, credit, and debit cards belonging to other people, multiple pieces of burnt foil, and a suspected fentanyl pill. A fake ID with the passenger’s information was also found inside the vehicle. The passenger, 27-year-old Ashden Russell of North Highlands, was subsequently arrested.
When Russell arrived at the South Placer Jail, it was discovered she had been concealing close to 50 suspected fentanyl pills in a plastic baggie. She is facing charges of forgery, using another person’s identification with intent to defraud, possession of narcotics for sale, and other related charges.
