Crime Stoppers: Hit-And-Run - San Marcos 

June 30, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the San Marcos Sheriff's Station and San Diego County Crime Stoppers want your help in finding the driver involved in a hit-and-run in San Marcos.

It happened on June 15 just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Grand Avenue and W. San Marcos Boulevard. Deputies responded to a call of a hit-and-run collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the victim laying in the roadway after being thrown from his motorcycle.

Sheriff's Traffic Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on W. San Marcos Boulevard when a pickup truck ran the red signal arrow and turned in front of motorcycle. The driver of the truck fled the scene with no attempt to render aid to the motorcyclist. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Surveillance footage from a nearby business captured the pickup truck driving away from the scene.

Take a good look at the photos in this news release. Detectives are looking for a 1995-2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with an extended cab. It will have damage to the passenger side door as a result of the collision.
