Homicide - Spring Valley 

July 6, 2023 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at around 10:06 p.m., deputies received a radio call of a shooting in 2700 block of Central Avenue in Spring Valley.  The reporting party heard several gunshots and found an adult male in the middle of the street. He was suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper torso.  Deputies and medical personnel provided medical aid, but he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.  Additionally, another unknown male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm and was expected to survive.  He was later identified as being the second victim in the shooting. Both identities are being withheld at this time due to the investigation.

At this stage of the investigation, the nature of the relationship between the victims and any potential suspect(s) is unclear. The motivation and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
