Homicide in San Diego
July 29, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on July 28, 2023, at about 1:30 A.M., the Sheriff's Department was notified by Cal-Fire of a shooting that occurred in San Diego near the border with Mexico. The exact location of the shooting is unknown. One male victim was transported to the hospital. The second male victim was pronounced deceased. Both victims appear to have gunshot wounds. The victims have not been positively identified at this point.
No suspects have been identified. At this stage of the investigation, the nature of the relationship between the victims and potential suspect(s) is unclear. The motivation and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
