September 16, 2023 - San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at about 12:00 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station responded to a call of a man down on Haven Avenue, in Rancho Cucamonga. When deputies arrived, they located the victim, identified as Achilleus Dink Chan, lying on the ground with a wound to his head. Medical aid also responded and pronounced Chan deceased at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation. A preliminary coroner exam of the body revealed an injury on the victim's head; however, further examination is needed to determine what exactly caused the injury.
Homicide detectives continue to investigate this case and await autopsy results to establish a cause and manner of death. A suspect has not been identified and no further details are available for release.
