September 17, 2023 - San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Friday, September 15, 2023, at about 1:28 p.m., deputies from the Chino Hills Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in the 2900 block of Buckhaven Road, in Chino Hills. When deputies arrived, they discovered the suspect, Jimmy Wang, had shot his son, Alexander Wang. Jimmy was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
When deputies entered the residence, they found Alexander suffered a gunshot wound. Chino Valley Fire District responded, administered medical aid, and transported Alexander to the hospital. Alexander later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. A motive has not been determined and the investigation is ongoing.
Jimmy Wang was booked in at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains in custody without bail.
