Fatal Traffic Collision 

October 17, 2023 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday, October 16, 2023, about 3:53 a.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Rubidoux Boulevard and Market Street, Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of a person lying in the roadway. When deputies arrived, they discovered the person had been struck by two vehicles. The pedestrian was found unresponsive and ultimately succumbed to injuries sustained during the collision at the scene. The drivers of the vehicles were uninjured during the traffic collision, remained on-scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and alcohol and/or drugs does not appear to be a factor. The identity of the pedestrian will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Rubidoux Boulevard, between Market Street and 24^th Street in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
