Fatal Traffic Collision 

October 18, 2023 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on October 15, 2023, at approximately 9:48 A.M. (0948 hours), Deputies responded to the area of Kimber Drive and Baxter Street in the city of Thousand Oaks reference an injury traffic collision.  Deputies on scene later determined that a juvenile driver was traveling eastbound on Kimber Drive when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a pedestrian who was walking in the bicycle lane.  The juvenile driver also collided into the rear of a parked vehicle on the north curb edge of the road.  The Sheriff’s Office and Medical personnel responded, and attempted life saving measures, but ultimately pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Senior Deputy Marcos Moreno at (805) 494-8245.  The name of pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
