Homicide in Ramona 

October 24, 2023 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on October 20, 2023, at approximately 5:05 P.M. (1705 hours), deputies received a call of a deceased person located in the 400 block of 16^th Street in Ramona.  Upon arriving, deputies spoke to the reporting party who said he found his brother, 26-year-old Eduardo Aguilar Alba, deceased inside his home.  Deputies checked the residence and found Mr. Aguilar Alba deceased with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy, and the preliminary determination of the cause of death is gunshot wound to the head; the manner is homicide.

At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the shooting are still unclear. Sheriff's Homicide investigators are working to gather more information to determine the facts of the case.
