October 25, 2023 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 23, 2023, at 7:41 p.m., Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 1200 block of Mt. Baldy Street in the city of Perris, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon investigation. The victim sustained lacerations to his head, resulting from being struck with brass knuckles.

The investigation led to the identification of the three following suspects (pictured below): 23-year-old Rony Alastaiy Sagastume, 21-year-old Rony Jose Sagastume, and 18-year-old Santiago Fregoso, all Hispanic males from Perris.

Perris Station deputies and Sheriff’s K-9 units responded to the suspect’s residence where after a short foot pursuit, Rony Jose was taken into custody. Also, while at the location, Fregoso was taken into custody without incident and Rony Alastaiy barricaded himself inside of the residence. A search warrant was written for the location and upon service, Rony Alastaiy was subsequently taken into custody. All three suspects were later booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon charges.
