October 25, 2023 - Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced on Tuesday that Kimberly Gonzalez is charged with stabbing and killing her mother, Jacqueline Perez at her home in El Monte.

“My heart goes out to the family and loved ones who have been shattered by this unimaginable tragedy. The pain and grief they must be experiencing is unimaginable.” District Attorney Gascón said. "This was an extraordinarily violent act which has had a profound impact on our community. We are fully committed to seeking justice on behalf of the victim and our dedicated team will work tirelessly to bring clarity and closure to this heartbreaking case.”

Kimberly Monique Gonzalez (25) (dob 12/15/97) is charged in case KA134129 with one count of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

It is further alleged that Gonzalez personally used a knife in the commission of the murder.

Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in Dept. N of the Pomona Courthouse.

On October 22, Gonzalez was allegedly observed by an El Monte police sergeant outside of the residence covered in blood and was apprehended shortly thereafter.

The victim, Gonzalez’s mother, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gonzalez is currently being held on $2 million bail.

If convicted as charged, Gonzalez will face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
