October 28, 2023 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report an update on Thursday, October 26, 2023, incident.
The victim in the incident has been identified as Steven Colter, succumbed to his injuries. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail assumed the investigation.
Charges have been updated to homicide.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available for release.

On October 25, 2023, at approximately 2:30 A.M., the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Station received a call for service regarding an assault with a deadly weapon near the 24000 block of Lake Drive in Crestline.
During the investigation, it was discovered the victim had been shot. He was transported to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
The suspects, Brian Serrano and Jaime Rojas, were stopped as they were leaving the crime scene in a vehicle. Brian Serrano was arrested for P.C. 664/187 Attempted Murder and booked into the Central Detention Center. Jaime Rojas was transported to the hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries and awaiting booking for P.C. 182 Conspiracy to Attempted Murder. No further details are available for release.
