November 4, 2023 - Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced in a press conference that Jahon Terez Smith, aka “Quant,” was 
charged in multiple shootings in 2001 that killed a man and his three-year-old daughter and wounded two others in Compton.
Lieutenant Reynaga announced the arrest of suspect Jahon Terez Smith, aka “Quant,” involved in the double murder of 25-year-old Stephen Murphy and his 2-year-old daughter, Kali Murphy.
Detectives continue to request the public’s help for information that will lead to additional suspects responsible for the August 8, 2001, double murder.
