Fatal Injury Collision in Encinitas
November 11, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that a man is dead after his car hit a tree in Encinitas.
It happened on Friday, November 10, just after 5:00 p.m. in the 1900 block of N. Coast Highway 101.
Deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station arrived and found a single vehicle had crashed into a tree. Deputies and paramedics attempted life saving measures. Unfortunately, the 52-year-old man died from his injuries at the scene. The man's identity is being withheld at this time pending notification of his next of kin.
During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned the car was driving north on N. Highway 101 when it left the road and struck a tree. The cause of the collision is under investigation and it is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were involved.
