November 30, 2023 - Nevada County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the Sheriff's Office and Nevada County Sheriff's Search & Rescue are currently searching for a missing person in the area of Englebright Lake, in Smartsville. The missing man, 57-year-old Michael Babb of Wheatland, was last known to be at the Narrows boat ramp/day use area on November 23, 2023. 

Michael is described as a white male, 5'10" tall  and weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and eyes.  Michael's clothing description is unknown but he would likely have had a backpack with fishing equipment and was not known to have had a boat.
