Fatal Traffic Collision (Vehicle vs. Pedestrian / Hit & Run)

December 11, 2023 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on December 9, 2023, at 10:51 p.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to Van Buren Boulevard, north of 56th Street, in the city of Jurupa Valley, regarding a major injury hit and run traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian. Deputies arrived within minutes and located the victim in the roadway. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of Van Buren Boulevard, causing fatal injuries. Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
