Firearms/Narcotics Arrests in Lemon Grove
December 16, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Thursday, December 14 around 6:00 a.m., deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station's Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Unit located a black 7 series BMW related to e-bike thefts and previous vehicle pursuits at a house in the 1700 block of Colfax Drive in the City of Lemon Grove.
Deputies contacted Richard Benedict (42) after he exited the home and attempted to get into the car. Drugs and ammunition were located inside the vehicle.
Later in the day, a search warrant was obtained for the house. Once inside, deputies found five firearms, miscellaneous caliber ammunition, narcotics, and narcotics paraphernalia. One firearm was an un-serialized ghost gun.
Benedict was arrested for a felony warrant and felony evading, as well as weapons, theft, and narcotics violations.
Three other people were arrested in connection with the investigation:
- David Martinez (28) - felony warrant and weapons violations
- Alain Sayvongsa (46) - weapons and narcotics violations
- Annette Soyinthisane (36) - felony warrant and weapons violations
