Missing Person
December 28, 2023 - Plumas County Sheriff's Office officials report that they are actively investigating the disappearance of 27-year-old Sierra Sweeting, who was reported missing early on Wednesday by her concerned parents. Sierra, who resides with her parents in their home off C Road in Clio, was last seen at approximately 4:00 A.M. on Wednesday morning. She was last seen wearing a brown hat, black coat, gray sweatshirt, black jeans, and possibly boots.
Sierra Sweeting has behavioral health conditions, and her parents have informed authorities that she had not been taking her prescribed medications. This is not the first instance of Sierra going missing, and she is considered a voluntary missing at-risk adult.
The initial investigation indicates that Sierra left her family home on foot sometime between 4:00 A.M. and 7:30 A.M. Despite ongoing efforts, the initial search of the surrounding area has, as of now, yielded no results.
Sierra Sweeting has ties to the San Francisco area, and investigators are exploring all possible leads to locate her. We urge anyone with information regarding Sierra's whereabouts to come forward and contact the Plumas County Sheriff's Office at 530-283-6300.
The Plumas County Sheriff's Office will continue to investigate and follow up on any leads. In the meantime, we ask for respect and privacy for the Sweeting family during this challenging time.
