Officers from the Montebello Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Neil Armstrong Street in the city on Montebello regarding a shots fired call for service.
The incident occurred on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at approximately 11:58 PM.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim, a Hispanic male, adult, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso. The victim was pronounced deceased by paramedics from the Montebello Fire Department.
An individual at the scene claimed responsibility for the shooting. He is currently being questioned.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there is no additional information available.
The identity and cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
