Joyride Ends in an Unplanned Pit Stop 

January 12, 2024 - San Diego Police Department officials report that recently, a trio on a joyride decided to take a stolen car for a spin. Little did they know, the car had its own plan – leading us right to them, thanks to GPS!

Upon our arrival, the trio made a run for it, dropping handguns like they were hot potatoes. But with the help of our ABLE team, they were quickly stopped in their tracks.

A deeper dive revealed a stolen firearm, a ghost gun, and a juvenile with a taste for trouble.

Their joyride ended with:

Juvenile #1 & #2 going to juvenile hall for a variety of firearm charges and one of them for an outstanding felony juvenile detention order (Warrant for Juveniles).

The adult booked a stay at county jail for firearm charges.

Moral of the story? Joyrides and firearms are a no-go. We're here to put a brake on such plans and keep our streets safe.
