Shooting Homicide 

January 12, 2024 - San Benito County, CA - San Benito County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at about 6:56 p.m., San Benito County Sheriff deputies responded to a person shot in the Hollister Migrant Housing Center located at 3239 Southside Road in Hollister. Arriving deputies located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Upon arrival, medial aid, CPR, and life saving measures were rendered, but unfortunately the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crime.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation. At this time, no suspects have been identified or apprehended. No additional details regarding the events leading up to the incident are available as this is an ongoing investigation.

The identity of the victim will be released by the San Benito County Sheriff Coroner’s Office after they confirm the victim’s identity and notify the victim’s family members.  This is the San Benito County’s 1st homicide of 2024. The Hollister Line Street apartment fire victims that were recently provided temporary housing at the Hollister Migrant Housing Center were not injured or harmed during this event.
