January 20, 2024 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on January 17, 2024, deputies from the Ojai Patrol Station responded to the 300 block of S. Padre Juan Avenue regarding a disturbance. Upon their arrival, deputies interviewed two adult male victims, who were later determined to be related. The victims told deputies that (A) Jacob Looker had confronted them at a jobsite.
The incident occurred while Looker was driving in the area and noticed the victims. Looker stopped his vehicle and challenged one of the victims to a physical fight. He exited his vehicle and advanced on the victim armed with a large wrench. The victim retreated and Looker secured the weapon before leaving the area.
A short while later, Looker returned to the area wielding a baseball bat. He confronted the second victim and threatened him with the bat. A bystander disarmed Looker and Looker subsequently attacked the victim. During the struggle, Looker struck the victim multiple times with his fists. Once separated, Looker threatened to return with a firearm and left the area.
Deputies located Looker and placed him under arrest for two counts of PC 417(a)(1) – Brandishing a Deadly Weapon, two counts of PC 422 – Criminal Threats, and one count of PC 242- Battery. At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies determined Looker did not have access to a firearm. Looker was transported to the Pre-Trial Detention Facility with bail set at $30,000.
