Attempted Murder in Jamul
January 21, 2024 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on January 19, 2024, at about 1:33 p.m.,
Sheriff's deputies responded to the 14400 block of Hillside Estates Drive in Jamul, to assist the Fire Department. The Fire Department requested the deputies respond because the female victim, 77-year-old Vicki Bodle, they were treating showed signs of a physical assault. Vicki Bodle was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. She is in critical condition.
Deputies arrived on scene and started to conduct an investigation. They detained Vicki's 53-year-old son, Travis Bodle. No one else was at the residence. There were no other victims.
Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to continue the investigation. The investigation culminated in the arrest of Travis Bodle. He was charged with 664/187(a) PC – Attempted Murder and booked into custody at the San Diego Central Jail.
At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation.
