Fatal Traffic Collision 

February 11, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on February 9, 2024, at 2:54 p.m., deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Perris Station responded to the intersection of A Street and Redding Way, in Perris, regarding a report of a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. Deputies arrived on the scene and located the bicyclist unresponsive with major injuries on the roadway. Deputies and medical personnel performed lifesaving measures, but the bicyclist succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative during the investigation.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed the vehicle was attempting to make a left turn from Redding Way onto A Street when the bicyclist failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the front end of the vehicle. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision. This investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased will not be released pending further investigation and notification to the next of kin. A temporary road closure of A Street between Red Maple Lane and Aspen Lane was required to process the scene and collect evidence.
