Commercial Burglary Suspect Arrested

March 21, 2024 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that between February and March 2024, numerous riverside county sheriff logobusinesses throughout the Coachella Valley were victims of window-smash burglaries. Members of the Thermal Sheriff Station’s La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) assumed the investigation. During the follow up investigation, the suspect was identified as Charles Emmanuel Cobb, a 42-year-old resident of Indio.

On March 19, 2024, the La Quinta SET, with the assistance of Thermal Sheriff’s Station Investigations, Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Investigations, Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team, Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Business District Team, and Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station Burglary Suppression Unit, served a search warrant at Cobb’s home in Indio. Cobb was located and arrested without incident. Cobb was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for 17 counts of commercial burglary. A bail enhancement was obtained for $1 million dollars.

These burglaries are still being investigated, and further follow-up investigation will be conducted. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is urged to contact Corporal M.
