False Police Report Suspect Arrested 

June 7, 2024 -  Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on since February 23, 2023, Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies have received numerous riverside county sheriff logosuspicious calls for service throughout the city of Perris. These calls for service alleged domestic violence incidents occurring, armed robberies occurring, gunshots occurring, assaults occurring, and suspects with guns near the public. When these types of calls for service were received, deputies sometimes responded with emergency lights and sirens, surrounded businesses and residences, and contacted citizens in an effort to preserve life. Only after arriving at these calls for service did the investigations prove the calls were falsified.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Elvis Ponce, a 20-year-old from Perris. On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Elvis Ponce was located and arrested.

Elvis Ponce was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for false report of a crime, false report of an emergency, misuse of a 911 emergency line, and probation violation.
