Arrests of Commercial Burglary Suspects

August 3, 2024 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 1, 2024, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Ventura County Sheriff logodetectives located and arrested two Los Angeles County residents suspected of committing six Commercial Burglaries in the Cities of Thousand Oaks and Moorpark during the early morning hours of June 17, 2024.

During these burglaries, surveillance video captured two masked suspects forcing entry into businesses by shattering and climbing through glass windows, ultimately fleeing with US currency. Each of these burglaries were carried out in a similar manner and appeared to be committed by the same two suspects.

Through investigative resources, detectives with the East County Special Enforcement Unit identified two of the suspects as (S) Trayvon Johnson and (S) Carlos Gudino, both residents of Los Angeles County.

On August 1, 2024, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office detectives located and arrested Johnson outside of his residence in Gardena.  A search warrant was subsequently served at Johnson’s residence revealing evidence connecting him to Ventura County burglaries.  Detectives later located and arrested Gudino in the City of Huntington Park.

Both Johnson and Gudino were booked into Ventura County Jail on felony burglary charges, with a bail amount of $100,000 each.  Both are scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on August 5, 2024, at 1:30 p.m.
