Weapons Arrest in Unincorporated Vista
August 9, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that a man is behind bars on numerous charges after a large amount of weapons was seized in the North County.
On Wednesday, August 7, around 1:30 p.m., deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station were called to a home in the 900 block of Sugarbush Terrace in Unincorporated Vista to investigate a temporary restraining order violation.
During the investigation, deputies found out Sean Christiansen (DOB 03/18/1985), a convicted felon, lived at the home. They also discovered Christiansen was in possession of several firearms and ammunition.
Based on this information, Sheriff's Detectives obtained a search warrant for Christiansen's home.
They ended up finding more than 35 rifles and handguns.
Deputies also found body armor, various firearm parts, illegal high-capacity magazines, thousands of rounds of ammunition, firearms manufacturing equipment and approximately five ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.
A majority of these firearms are illegal to possess.
Christiansen was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on the following charges:
- Convicted felon in possession of a firearm/ammunition/stun gun
- Possession of an illegal firearm
- Possession of an illegal weapon (expandable baton)
- Possession of a controlled substance for sale
