San Marcos Residential Burglary Arrest
August 10, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on August 9th, 2024, as part of an ongoing residential burglary investigation, the San Marcos Area Detectives served a search warrant at 43000 block of Kensington Place in the city of Temecula. The resident and suspect, Katie Rhew was stopped and arrested during a traffic stop 2 blocks from her house, with the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies.
The passenger that was with Rhew, Gina O’Neill (38), was arrested and released later on her promise to appear in court for an unrelated charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
During the subsequent search of the home, San Marcos Detectives recovered several items that were stolen from a residential burglary that occurred in the city of San Marcos, including several designer bags valued at more than $5,000. During the search of the Chevrolet Suburban that Rhew was driving, detectives recovered two packages that had just been stolen from the unincorporated area of De Luz. The packages were returned to their owners and those thefts are still under investigation.
Rhew was booked into the Vista Jail for 459 PC, residential burglary and 11377 H&S possession of illegal drugs and 530.5 PC identity theft.
