Two firearms and Two Arrests
August 10, 2024 – San Diego Police Department officials report that proactivity combined with a team effort get a “ghost gun” and a stolen firearm off the streets.
Recently Officers with our Mid-City Division spotted a subject near Rock Street and 60th Street brazenly carrying a handgun in his pants pocket.
After Officers attempted to detain the subject, he fled into a nearby home. Officers were quick to call in resources to secure the area and form a solid perimeter on the home the subject entered.
With a perimeter set and resources in place, Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and take the subject into custody. Officers then located and secured the weapon.
Officers seized a loaded “ghost gun” and a loaded stolen firearm. During the investigation, a secondary male was detained with possible connections to the incident and was subsequently arrested after he was found to have a warrant for robbery outside of San Diego County.
