Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling 

August 18, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:36 p.m., deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the 17000 block of Van Buren Boulevard in the unincorporated area of Riverside, commonly known as Woodcrest, regarding a shooting. When deputies arrived on the scene, they confirmed no one had been struck by gunfire, and the suspect had fled the scene. Lake Mathews Station Investigators assumed the investigation and later positively identified the shooter as Martin Eduardo Ramos-Ceja, a 27-year-old resident of Riverside. It was learned that Ramos-Ceja fired three rounds in the direction of a motorcycle that was parked in the parking lot. One round struck the motorcycle, and the other two hit the front window of a business.

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, at about 1:30 p.m., with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff Major Crimes Bureau and the Riverside County Sheriff Regional Gang Task Force, Ramos-Ceja was located, apprehended, and taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was served at his residence, and investigators located rifles, ammunition, and several high-capacity magazines. Ramos-Ceja was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for shooting at an inhabited dwelling. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available.
