August 20, 2024 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at about 5:13 p.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to a market on 6th Street, in Bloomington, for the report of a stabbing. When deputies arrived, they located the victim, later identified as Octavio Tarin, outside the business with stab wounds. American Medical Response also responded to the location and pronounced Tarin deceased at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. A second victim was located at a hospital where he was being treated for stab wounds. Deputies identified the suspect as Jesus Ramirez.
On Sunday, August 18, 2024, investigators, along with deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division (SWAT), located Ramirez at his residence in Riverside and took him into custody. Ramirez was booked in at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains without bail.
