Sex Registrant Compliance Sweep
August 23, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 21, 2024, the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of Riverside County Probation and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Parole Division, conducted Sex Registrant Compliance checks in accordance with Penal Code Section 290. The compliance checks were conducted on registrants that fall within the area of responsibility of the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station. One hundred seventeen registrants and sixty-five locations were checked to ensure they were in compliance with their sex offender registration requirements. Offenders who were on probation or parole were also checked to confirm compliance with their court-ordered terms.
Nine subjects were arrested for violating their probation or parole terms, as well as various felonies, including narcotics-related charges and unlawful possession of ammunition. Four registrants were found to be out of compliance. Further investigation will be conducted on each registrant in violation of their registration requirements, and charges will be filed with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office.
