Unsuccessful Getaway... Again 

August 30, 2024 – San Bernardino Police Department officials report that last Friday, SMASH Officers attempted a traffic stop on a motorist near 11th Street and Sepulveda Avenue. The driver failed to yield, leading officers on a vehicle pursuit.

During the pursuit, the suspect collided with another motorist and careened through the fence at Parkside Elementary School, after school hours. Once the vehicle came to a stop, the suspect bailed out of the SUV and fled on foot. Officers closed the distance and took him into custody. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant for a previous case of assault with a deadly weapon. He was also arrested on new felony charges stemming from this incident.
