August 31, 2024 – Imperial County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday August 29, 2024, at approximately 9:30 A.M., a male and female were booked into the Imperial County Jail at the Oren R. Fox Detention Facility for the charge of Penal Code 496D(A), (Possession of a Stolen Vehicle) by a local agency. During the intake process, multiple items of contraband were located as the result of the vigilant work of Imperial County Sheriff’s Correctional staff. A handcuff key was found to be in the possession of the male subject, and 14 blue pills, that later tested positive for fentanyl, were found on the person of the female subject.

All persons brought into the Imperial County Correctional Facilities are thoroughly searched by staff as a precaution for the safety of staff, and the safety of the entire incarcerated population.
